A native of Ethel and resident of Slaughter, Louisiana, departed this life at 3:35 PM, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Grace Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 77. Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 9 A.M. until Celebration of Life Service at 11 A.M., at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, 9654 Hwy 10 in Ethel, LA. Rev. Lloyd L. Harris, Officiating. Interment will be at the church. She leaves to Celebrate her Legacy, 1 Son, Calvin Matthews, 4 Sisters, Gertrude (Carl) Bridgewater, Harriet Shorts, Sadie Hollins, Mary E. Johnson, 2 Brothers, McKinley (Joyce) Davis, Darnell Scott and numerous other relatives and friends.
