Obituary of Ida M. Edwards

Ida Mae Sims Edwards, 94 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Clinton, Louisiana, received her Heavenly wings July 2, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born April 8, 1928, to Louis and Irene Sims in Jackson, Louisiana. Ida was united in Holy matrimony to Johnnie B. Edwards and to this union 6 children were born. She relocated to Knoxville, TN and was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and attended regularly until her health begin to fail, she retired from the University of Tennessee Student Health Clinic. Ida was respected and known for her kindness and generosity; she was also known for culinary skills. Preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Irene Sims, husband; Johnnie B. Edwards Sr., beloved daughter; Barbara Nero, son; Johnnie B. Edwards Jr., great grandson; Devin (Ky) Williams, sister; Maggie Woodridge, brothers; Willie, Louis, George, Arthur, Johnny and Alex Sims. Left to cherish her memory, sons; Mitchell (Sheree) Edwards, Jerome (Felicia) Edwards, Wilfred Edwards, and John (Kykie) Edwards. Granddaughters; Debbie and Johneshia Edwards, Robin (Morris) Flowers, Chantelle Edwards, Bridgett Nero, Casey Edwards, and Chanda Williams. Grandsons; Brandon (Nijarea) Edwards, Lloyd Nero Jr. and Kevin (Colese) Davis, 16 Great grandchildren, 7 Great great grandchildren, Son-in-law; Lloyd Nero Sr., Daughter-in-law; Saundra Edwards, and a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
