Obituary of Kestee Weir Jr
Please share a memory of Kestee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kestee Weir Jr was born January 25, 1934, in Natchez, Mississippi, to the union of Kestee Weir, Sr, and Eliza Pennywright Weir. Later the family moved to Innis, Louisiana, where Kestee received his early education in the Pointe Coupee Parish School System. He later met and married Corine Walker on March 30, 1962, and later that year, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Elm Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J. R. Williams. Unto Kestee and Corine’s Union were born four children Kasandra, Kestee III (Gaynell), Andre (Shonda), and Sherman.
He was employed for over 40 years as a national large rig transporter. He worked for several companies over the years, his last employer being Enterprise Transportation hauling chemicals, where he continued his trips across the nation. He often said, “there are 50 states, and I have driven to 48 of them”. He knew the roads well and enjoyed a successful career.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Corine W. Weir; four children, Kasandra, Kestee III (Gaynell), Andre (Shonda), Sherman; three granddaughters, Ashley, Korine, and Kourtney; and two great-granddaughters, Rayna & Rae’l. Sisters Orangell Weir, Ruby Weir, brother Thomas Weir and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and other Relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kestee Weir Sr and Eliza Pennywright Weir, and Siblings Huey P, Vincent, Gracie, Bonnie Louise, Lueida, and Thelma.
