“Mama Ollie”
Sister Ollie Mae Taylor Richardson was born on October 31, 1926 to Butler and Lillian Taylor. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of Greater Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Jessie Richardson, Sr. on December 3, 1946 and to this union eight (8) children were born. Together they created a strong family life which they enjoyed fifty-seven (57) years of marital bliss. She showed her expression of love through her cooking, hospitality, and beautiful smile. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, most warmly known as “Mama Ollie”.
Sister Ollie Richardson memories will be cherished by her five (5) children; Jesse Richardson Jr., of Zachary, Louisiana, Bernard Richardson Sr. (Lorene) of Houston, Texas, Alvin Richardson (Linda) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Paula Richardson of Baker, Louisiana, and Dennis Richardson, Sr. (Chermane) of Zachary, Louisiana. Her son-in-law, Jesse Matthews of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Richardson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Theodore Rogers of Chaneyville, Louisiana; one sister-in-law, Nellie Taylor of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her legacy of love will continue with two (2) grandchildren she reared as her own; DeQuincy Richardson of Watson, Louisiana and Timmie Douglas of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She will be remembered by her thirty-one (31) grandchildren, eighty (80) great grandchildren and thirty-nine (39) great great grandchildren, with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and her dearest friend, Louvilla Holliday.
Sister Ollie Richardson will be welcomed in Heaven by her parents Butler and Lillian Taylor, her husband Jessie Richardson Sr., three (3) Children; James Richardson Sr., Lois Matthews, and Martha Douglas, Grandchildren; Drederick Richardson, Torrence Lewis, Jermaine Franklin, Bernard Richardson Jr., Lawayne Rice, Levi Douglas, and seventeen (17) siblings.
