James Dotson Jr. James Dotson Jr., “Peanut”, a Baton Rouge native, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and friend, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the age of 50. James was a 1991 graduate of Baker High School, and worked as a civil carpenter for over 20 years. James was the CEO of Ballers Cigar Co. LLC, which was one of the first hand rolled premium cigar infused businesses in and around Baton Rouge. James is survived by his loving wife Kahlilah L. Dotson; his children Jeremy B. Converse (Kayla) of Ponchatoula, LA, Jamie Converse of Baton Rouge, LA, Khylee Chretien, Khailee Chretien, Khel Arive, and Khalil Eggins, all of Lake Charles, LA. Grandchildren, Karson, Karleigh, Karter, Kamille, Karmyn, and Jude Converse. Father, James Dotson Sr.; sister, Yolanda Whitmore (Jason Tate); brother, Kyle J. Minor (Cheirlyn Johnson) all of Baton Rouge, LA. Father-in-law, Harold Lockett Jr., mother in-law, Vandell Lockett of Lake Charles, LA, brother-in-laws Vandyon Lockett (Celola) of Lake Charles, LA, and Tavaris White (Charlene) of Pearland, Texas; sister-in-laws Normanda Jones, Kenyatta Lockett of Lake Charles LA, and Alicia Lockett of California. Godmother, Diane Wiltz of New Orleans, LA; Godchildren, Kaniece McGee, and Zikeya Duhon of Baton Rouge, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Lillie Rose Dotson, grandparents, Willie and Hannah Jones , Herman Sr. and Inez Dotson; Aunts, Mary Alice Smalley, Myrna Dotson, and Carrie Handy; Uncles Larry Eubanks Sr., Ronnie Eubanks, and Herman Dotson Jr., brother-in-law Charles C. Whitmore Jr., and godson Clarence Jackson, III. Viewing at Restore Church located at 14510 Plank Road, Baker, LA on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10:30am until Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm officiated by Apostle Eric Williams. Final resting place Southern Memorial Gardens.
