Obituary of Vanessa A. Montgomery

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my depanure is at hand. I have fought a good fight I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Henceforthi there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lords the righteous judges shall give me at that day: and not to me but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2Timothy 4:6-8 Vanessa A Montgomery was born on July 4th, 1967. in New Orleans, La.to the union of the late Willie Clayton Montgomery & Elma Lee Sholes Montgomery. On the evening of August 5th, 2024: at 4pm: the earthly journey of Vanessa Avia Montgomery came to a peaceful end. She passed away at the age of 57. She fought a courageous battle and today she is victorious because God has heated her by His Devine providence, and she suffers no more, Vanessa accepted Christ at an early age: receiving her religious training from her parents and was baptized at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church of New Orleans, La, she was attracted to things of God. As a loyal and dedicated youth, she participated in numerous church ministries. Her life was full of love, strength, courage and great faith. Vanessa began her education in the Louisiana Public School Board System of New Orleans, She graduated from Frances T. Nicholls High School. She enhanced her knowledge through Folks- Technical School of Jackson, La.; (Business Administration and Banking Solutions) Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. She loved to learn new things and being creative with making holiday and theme wreaths and bracelets, she loved to bake her special pies, cook refreshing meals from our family history and tried new recipes with her own specialty. Vanessa loved to share her cooking gifts at family gatherings and always kept a beautiful smile and was as loving as any angel from above Vanessa was employed by Jhane's Home Health Care of NOLA Jaynell's Home Health Care of Clinton La., Best Western Hotel of Baker, La.: Jackson Hewitt of Capital Area, and Montgomery Tax Services, Vacherie Personal Care Services, Chez EEma Adult Day Health Care Service She also was a servant to the community St. James Parish U.S. Marine Toys for Tots, Food Bank of Wilson: La. Vanessa serecl as; whom God had called her to serve on her beautiful journey here on earth, When Vanessa made a promise, she kept them. She was the lady of her WORD, she loved people, never met a stranger: she always blossomed in the presence of people. Vanessa loved working with numbers ever since she was a little girl. She fascinated people with being lefthanded and being able to •write upside-down. Something you do not see every day. It was amazing to see the smile she put on people's faces by her special giftings Vanessa shall continue to live through her daughters Ashley Jaynell Montgomery of Wilsom La., Johnesha Bennett of Slaughter. La.t and Rynesha Bennett of Clinton, La.; two sons Damien Dunn (Miriam) of Baker: La; Darrion Washington of Baton Rouget La.: God-daughter Quintina Turner of Clinton, La.; four sisters April Montgomery of Vacherie, La.; Melissa Chriss (Jesse) of St. James, La.: Janet Vinnett (Gerald) of Ste Rose, La.; Kenyetta Washington-DeRozan (Nicholas) of Baton Rouge La; three brothers Kevin ShoEes(Tracy) Fort Worth. TX; Kenneth Montgomery (Valerie) of St. Rose: Barrett Robinson (Carol) of Buckeye, Arizona. Nephews Derek Dunn, of New Orleans La:, Anthony LOLIis Thompson of New Orleans, La.; Christian Cole of Vacherie: La.; and Bradley Boe of St. John: La.; Nieces Elma Allen (Bryan) of Fort Hood: TX, Jeanee Chriss (Nichquin) of Houston: TX-G a host of great nieces nephews, God-sisters, relatives: extended family; Tuo dear close friends Fay Haynes of Clinton, La„; and Tamara L.
